Baby Sarah arrived just in time for Easter!  Isn’t she the cutest little bunny?  Sarah’s parents, Rebecca + Mark,  have been on the blog before, first for their engagement session and more recently to feature their wedding photos.  I love being able to cover all the special events for a family, forming lasting relationships, and making new friends.  While I really love shooting weddings and engagement sessions there is something extra special that comes from working with newborns that I just can’t explain.  I’ll just call it cuteness overload, no matter how fussy a newborn may decide to be, I’m always having fun!

A quick note about that fussiness – the younger newborns are the easier they are to work with, please try to contact me before baby arrives so we can pencil in a date to get the shoot done, preferably in the first week to 10 days.  Baby Sarah was 8 days old here and did a wonderful job on her first photo shoot!

I stopped by to visit the world’s youngest Die-hard Yankee fan for a quick mini-session not too long ago. This kid’s middle name is Jeter for cryin out loud!  Can’t get anymore hard core than that.   Here he is hitting his first home run on my blog!

Usually we like to take photos of babies in the first few days they are born and again when they begin sitting up and playing with toys.  The age between the 2 can be difficult to work with.  Honestly I was worried when Ethan’s mom asked me to shoot him at 2 months.  Knowing that he was only getting bigger every day I wanted them to be able to have photos of when he was still pretty new, so I went for it.  I’m glad I did!  This kid was cool as a cucumber and fun to work with.  His expressions are still cracking me up a few months later

We’ve featured Daddy Nomy on the blog before and I was  happy to hear from him and his wife Catie shortly after the birth of their first child Nicholas.  They asked me to come to the house when Nick was about 4 weeks old.  We had a great time shooting a day in the life of Baby Nomy the milk monster.

Jackson’s Daddy is a close friend of mine going all the way back to Kindergarten.  I even had a hand in introducing Bill to his wife Sarah in college!  I felt the best gift I could give them on their new arrival would be a newborn session.  Despite being vehemently opposed to posing for any images on his belly I had a great time with Jackson and his big brother Cameron.  Scroll down to check out the images and photo book layout from Baby Jackson’s Newborn session.

Shooting newborns is one of the most exciting sessions that I do.  There is just something special about hanging out with a family who is getting to know (adjusting) to their newborn.  Baby Ella made her dad Mark feel like a newbie and convenient diaper alternative  several times  while giving her mom Allyson a dose of what real laundry loads are all about.   Somehow I avoided the carnage and came away from this one unscathed and with some beautiful photos to boot.   

I recently spent a wonderful afternoon with Kim, Larry, and thier newborn daughter Charlotte.  This shoot was special.  I have known Kim a for a long time and she has always been one of the nicest people you could ever meet.  I’m so happy for them both!

Managed to meet up with famous  DJ Sir Spitzalot (a.k.a. Andrew)  in between his busy club residency and studio schedule.  He’s featured here with his best friend and manager – Daddy.

Last time we saw Baby Sal he had the headphones on but he was still in mommies tummy.  He’s out now!!!  We got together in studio to work on some art for the cover of his new mix tape entitled Poppin Baby Bottles.
